MY ENGLISH LEARNING JOURNEY AND KEY TOPICS

Learning English is not just about grammar and vocabulary; it’s also about learning to think critically. In today’s world, we are surrounded by information, and understanding it well is important. I often read news articles and watch educational videos in English to practice this skill. Critical thinking helps me ask questions, compare different points of view, and decide what information is trustworthy. It is important to be able to understand the sources of information and separate facts from opinions. Learning English has made me more aware of the importance of thinking carefully before believing everything I read or see online. I think that media literacy programs are needed to teach more people how to analyze and understand media. This helps create a community that is well-informed and able to make smart choices.

At SENA, studying advertising has taught me that knowing English is very useful. To succeed in projects and class activities, I practice translating simple marketing content and learning industry-specific terms. This has given me a better understanding of how English connects to real-world work in advertising and business. By following English-speaking advertising experts online, I learned about the latest trends and gained new ideas for my work. This helped me stay updated and more confident when presenting ideas in class. My goal is to one day work in a global company or start my own business, and I know that being fluent in English will help me achieve these dreams.  

  Learning English has opened up a world of new hobbies and interests for me. One of the most enjoyable ways I practiced was through music. I started listening to artists like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Singing along helped me learn pronunciation and new phrases, making my English more natural. Watching movies in English was another fun way to learn. I started with simple shows like Friends with Spanish subtitles and then moved on to English subtitles. This helped me understand conversations and expand my vocabulary. These hobbies have not only improved my language skills but also made learning feel exciting.

  Growing up, my family was always there to support me. Even though my brother is younger and does not speak English yet, he inspires me to continue learning. At home, I practiced by speaking simple English phrases and reading stories to them. This practice helped me gain confidence and made learning fun. My parents, who do not speak English fluently, still encouraged me to watch English TV shows and listen to music. We made a game out of guessing words and repeating what we heard. These small activities strengthened my skills and sparked my interest in learning more.
